Delhi has the largest backlog of traffic challans in India, and the Delhi Traffic Police opens online registration for each National Lok Adalat only a few days before the date. Slots are limited and usually fill quickly, so preparation matters.
Before registration opens
- Note every pending challan number for your vehicle from the Parivahan e-challan portal
- Check that the offence is a minor, compoundable one (over-speeding, red light, no helmet or seat belt, parking)
- Keep the vehicle owner's mobile number handy for the OTP
- Watch for the official announcement of the next National Lok Adalat date
On registration day
- Open the Delhi Traffic Police website and the Lok Adalat registration link as soon as it is live
- Enter the challan or vehicle number and verify with OTP
- Choose an available slot and court location
- Download or screenshot the token / appointment letter
- Carry it, with your RC and licence, on the Lok Adalat date unless the digital process applies to you
If you miss the slots
Unregistered challans stay pending and can be taken up at the next Lok Adalat, or paid on the official portal. Ignoring them is risky: authorities are increasingly blocking vehicle services for unpaid challans.
AdalatSaathi tracks registration openings for you, books the slot as soon as it opens and keeps you updated on WhatsApp. Lok Adalat itself is free; we charge only for our assistance.
